The community has many celebrations during the year as well. Memorial Day Weekend is a community wide celebration, featuring memorial services, reunions, craft displays, parade, various competitions, and noon and evening meals. High school graduation is held the Saturday before Mother's Day each year and every five years there is an all class reunion. In addition, the high school music and athletic events are great proof of Axtell Pride. The Axtell fire department also holds an annual street dance on the third Saturday in August.
2010 will be all class reunion on memorial weekend and Axtell will be celebrating its 125th Birthday (1885-2010). Annual town garage sales Saturday June 6, 2010 (8am to 1pm).
