Axtell Community School currently enrolls 300+ K-12 students and has 30+ staff members. The school stresses academic excellence and offers many extracurricular activities. The school also has an outstanding fine arts program.
      The original portion of the school building was constructed in 1938. The library was completed in 1984 and other additions were completed in 1955, 1965, and 1971. The most recent addition which was completed in 2002 provided a new practice gym, new locker rooms, a new wrestling room, a new weight room, an enlarged cafeteria and kitchen, new tile flooring, new display cases, a reopened stage in the cafeteria, an enlarged art room, and a new look throughout most of the school.
